Welcome to the Southeastern Railway Museum web site. The museum is located in Duluth, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. It is owned and operated by the Atlanta
Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. We are recognized by the IRS as a
501(c)(3) non-profit organization for historical and educational
purposes. The museum is staffed almost completely with volunteers.
If you're interested in volunteering, there's no experience required all we ask is for your help. We have opportunities to help in lots of areas... group tours, train operations, special events, fundraising to name a few. For more information, please see our volunteer information (click here) page
See our Events
Page for schedules and Planning Your Visit for directions.
Grant and Challenge Grant
The Southeastern Railway Museum is proud to announce that the Museum has been awarded
a $500,000 Federal Transportation Enhancement (TE) grant to assist with
construction of a new exhibit building.
The addition of this new structure, behind Bldg. 2,
is expected to increase our covered storage by more than 50 percent
and will greatly enhance our ability to protect and exhibit the collection.
As with past TE grants, the museum must first raise the Local Match
of one-quarter of the grant amount ---$125,000---before the grant can be released.
To help us obtain the Local Match, the Hudgens Family Foundation has offered
a Challenge Grant. For every dollar raised for the new building before October 31, 2012,
the Hudgens Family Foundation will match it up to $50,000.
We Challenge You to Participate --- Will You Make a Donation Today to support this important project?
